What is a Credit Union?
Credit Unions are financial co-operatives owned and controlled by their members.
They offer safe savings and competitive loans. Each Credit Union has a “common bond”
which determines who can join it.
Common bond qualifications
1. Admission to membership of the Credit Union is restricted to:
a. Being an individual who is a member of the following bona fide organisations
of the Independent Order Of Oddfellows Manchester Unity Friendly Society Ltd and
/ or The Ancient Order of Foresters Friendly Society Ltd in Great Britain.
b. An individual who is a member of the same household as, and is a relative of,
an individual who is a member of the Credit Union and falls directly within a common
bond specified above.
