What is a Credit Union?

Credit Unions are financial co-operatives owned and controlled by their members. They offer safe savings and competitive loans. Each Credit Union has a “common bond” which determines who can join it.

Common bond qualifications

1. Admission to membership of the Credit Union is restricted to:

a.  Being an individual who is a member of the following bona fide organisations of the Independent Order Of Oddfellows Manchester Unity Friendly Society Ltd and / or The Ancient Order of Foresters Friendly Society Ltd in Great Britain.

b. An individual who is a member of the same household as, and is a relative of, an individual who is a member of the Credit Union and falls directly within a common bond specified above.
